In the Shadow of God

…Bezalel is Called by God- He is filled with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship… Ex. 31:2-3

The Lord gives Moses a vision of the tabernacle and provides for him people like Bezalel, who would help him finish his assignment.

Today I want to make this submission: no one lands on earth without an assignment to fulfill or to engage in before we pass on. These assignments carry within themselves gifts and talents. Primarily these gifts and talents are to expand the kingdom of God on earth and whilst we do that, the same sets of gifts secondarily feeds us and our families. We were created to make a difference, created to manifest the will of God in ourselves and on earth.

However, we cannot reach our divine potential unless we linger around God’s presence. That is the shadow of the Almighty. We must never rest up until we find or discover why we are here. Or else the world will give us mediocre assignments that might be funny and look good in our sight but at the end we are led to anxiety, depression and in all other sorts of pain.

In the Shadow of the Almighty

The above statement is the meaning of the name, Bezalel. I have read somewhere that this man was fashioned and designed to be the principal artisan of the tabernacle. He did not know that up until it was revealed to him by God. Had he not followed his name by lingering in the shadow of the God, he would live his life using his gifts solely for his benefit; just like many of us.

He was a designer of artistic works, in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and in all manner of workmanship. What a multi-talented individual Bezalel was!

Have you discovered your sets of gifts and talents? If you have, what impact has that been in the expansion of the Kingdom of God on earth?

In the Shadow of the Almighty

The text records that the man, Bezalel was filled with the Spirit of God. This phrase is indicative of the work of the Holy Spirit through all ages. This means that even in our time, the Spirit of God is looking for people who are searching for their divine assignment, to discover their gifts and talents, He is looking for those who have found their purpose but are self serving. He is looking, seeking for young and old individuals, to infuse us with His Power to make a difference in our communities and circles; especially during this time of political, and spiritual turmoil and social ills. He wants to fill us with His Spirit, so we can engage in our divine cause before we pass on.

In the Shadow of the Almighty God, our Creator. We discover who we are and who He is. Wherever you are, use any mechanism you know to keep yourself in His shadow and ask to be filled with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge like Bezalel of old.
